About This Product
The Clay Mask | 7.1 oz
A clay mask sold premixed in a tube has been sitting in water since the day it was made. Something has to keep it from spoiling on the shelf, and that something ends up on your face.
This one arrives as a dry powder and stays that way until you're ready for it. A tablespoon and an equal splash of water makes a paste the texture of toothpaste, so every ingredient goes on fresh. That matters most for the 10% L-ascorbic acid in the blend, a form of vitamin C that's notoriously quick to break down once it meets water.
The base is four clays, each with its own job. Rhassoul from Morocco's Atlas Mountains clears oil and congestion. Calcium bentonite from the Nevada desert tightens pores, kaolin calms, and French green illite rounds out the detox. Then come the ingredients you rarely see in a mask: freshwater pearl powder for a soft polish and more even tone, grass-fed colostrum collected in the first six hours, American ginseng, and organic kelp. There's no added fragrance, so it smells earthy, the way clay does. (A drop of your favorite essential oil changes that, if you'd rather it didn't.)
Smooth it over everything but the eye area and let it dry for 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse it off in the shower, splash with cold water, and follow with serum and moisturizer. One to three times a week is enough. If your skin runs sensitive, stick with water over vinegar and rinse at 10 to 15 minutes, before it fully dries.
