Grocery-shelf everything bagel seasoning is usually a shortcut version of the real thing — pre-mixed years ago, padded with anti-caking agents and cheap dried garlic, tasting mostly of salt by the time it reaches your bagel.
Burlap & Barrel built theirs from single-origin ingredients instead of a filler blend. Sesame seeds from Turkey for nutty depth, garlic and onion slow-dried in Vietnam for real crunch with no burnt edges, Zanzibar black peppercorns from Tanzania for bright heat, and Wild Mountain Cumin from Afghanistan and Crescent Caraway from India layered in for warmth most everything bagel blends never reach. Small pearl salt and blue poppy seeds round it out with texture and contrast.
Shake it over eggs straight from the pan, press it into salmon before roasting, stir it into Greek yogurt for a quick dip, or actually put it on a bagel. It's everything seasoning, finally built for everything.
